HISTORY OF INKURU NZIZA ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIZED HOSPTAL

Inkuru Nziza Orthopedic Specialized Hospital is a faith-based health facility initiated by Eglise Inkuru Nziza au Rwanda (EIR), established in Rwanda in 1960. EIR began healthcare activities through Community Based Rehabilitation in 1997 and established Inkuru Nziza Hospital in 2007, focusing on rehabilitation and corrective surgery for persons with disabilities.
In 2008, surgical services were added, and the facility became CBR Inkuru Nziza Hospital. It was accredited as Inkuru Nziza Orthopedic Specialized Hospital in 2014. In September 2020, through a partnership with Rwanda’s Ministry of Health, it was upgraded to a specialized hospital and renamed Inkuru Nziza Orthopedic Specialized Hospital. It operates as a faith-based facility subsidized and supported by the Government of Rwanda.
